Can you provide a quick price over the phone?

Not usually. We get this question all the time and unfortunately, it’s not that easy. If it was, it would make our jobs a whole lot easier! There are numerous factors that can affect pricing, such as materials, labor, location, personal preference/style, and more! Although it takes a little more time, wouldn’t you rather have an accurate price where you can easily determine what’s included and know what to expect?

How long will the construction process take?

The construction duration varies depending on the specifics, size, and scale of the project. The best way to approach this question is for us to evaluate your specific scope of work and provide you with a preliminary timeline.

What is the overall process to start and complete a project?

Our process varies slightly from job to job as not all projects are the same.

If you’re starting from scratch, we schedule a site visit to take a look at the job and further discuss your ideas, concerns, and needs. Once we have a firm understanding of the project, we prepare a detailed estimate for your review. When you are ready to move forward, we then start the paperwork process. This usually includes engineering and permitting. After this, we commence work and keep you updated on the progress. We manage everyone on the job, schedule inspections, and close out the job at completion.

If you already have construction plans, we review your plans and schedule a site visit to further evaluate the project. Once a firm understanding of the project is achieved, we prepare a detailed proposal for your review. When you’re ready to begin, we complete the necessary paperwork to make it official! After this, we commence work and keep you updated on the progress. We manage everyone on the job, schedule inspections, and close out the job at completion.

Permits? Are those required? Where do I begin?

In Monroe County and the City of Key West, a permit is required anytime a project is valued at $500 or more. We can handle this process for you. We will prefill all the necessary paperwork so all you’ll have to do is sign and have a notary stamp it. Barracuda Builders will submit everything for you so it’s one less thing on your plate!
